Florence was the second female skin owned by the chimpanzee Karns and took as his pet and sex partner, after his previous female skin, Georgene expired. During Karns ownership of Florence, he shaved her hair to give her a mohwak and dyed it green to suit his taste.

She was present with Karns, leashed to him and his bike at the party held at the Mighty Joes Junk Yard in honor of the deceased Mojo.^[1] Florence was seen sleeping curled next to her owner, passed out on a armchair after the party.^[2]

By the time of Bobby Moore and Bricks deaths, the dye in Florence's hair faded away to her natural brown hair color. Despite being Karns treasured pet, the woman was rounded up with the rest of the skins owned by The Humans and placed in a truck to be used as an army in the ape gang’s battle against Abe Simian in retaliation for their fellow Humans. After being transported a little ways from Flex Trucking compound, she and her fellow skins, against their will, were injected with Spazm. Due to its hallucinogenic effects, they lost their minds turning into foaming killers. In her irrational state Florence and her fellow skins were released and the mad horde of skins served as an army of berserkers for the Humans to breach the defenses of Flex Trucking.

Under the effects of the drug, Florence and her fellow skins in a feral rage attacked the cops guarding the facility enmasse. In the battle, she managed to straddle a gorilla cop to the ground and plug out one of his. In their drugged out fevor, Florence and the Human owned skins unconsciously aided the biker gang in distracting the cops, sowing confusion so that the Humans could launch their assault on the guards and trucking complex.

After Johnny Moore used a grenade to blast the gates of the compound, Florence and her fellows poured in through the broken gates to sate their bloodlust. The feral woman soon found another victim, leaping on the back of an ape, biting his ear off.

In the midst of the chaos, where the battle was turning in favor of the Humans, many of the skins were killed. Florence and a male skin named Rex were among the survivors. By then the Spazam had run its course out of Florence's system, leading her to eventually regained her sanity. Florence finding herself longer chained and under the supervision of Karns, found herself with an opportunity. Rather than continue the senselessly killing for the ape, she went in favor of abandoning her ape master and fleeing the battlefield. Without a second glance back, Florence headed towards the exit to freedom. Rex also having recovered from his own drug infused state followed suit. Whilst Nada tended to Marra’s shoulder wound, they failed to notice the pair slipping away, heading out the gates of Flex Trucking.

Upon crossing the threshold outside the compound, the couple came across dead ape cops laying on the ground. The couple were momentarily shocked by the corpses and devastation that they committed from their forced involuntary drug-infused rampage. Florence was the first to recover emotionally from the grisly sight. The female skin taking the lead then took hold of Rex’s hand, as the male was too stunned by all the death around them, and helped guide him and herself forward away from the carnage.

The couple’s departure did not go unnoticed. One of the surviving ape cops, saw Florence and Rex leave the compound from his hiding place behind a police cruiser. Though he was too afraid to confront the pair due to his aversion to skins. Furthermore he was ambushed by the female members of The Humans, who failed to see the escaped skins as they were distracted by their desire to reap revenge on the corrupt cop.

Whilst the Humans and what was left of Simian's apes battled it out, Florence and Rex successfully escaped to the wilds. Now free from the control of the apes and in celebration of their newfound freedom, the couple made love to consummate their relationship.

The newly made wild skins had sex, as Flex Trucking went flames behind them from afar. According to the issue of Apeshit Extra, Florence and Rex lived happily ever after.^[3]

• Hand-to-Hand Combat: While Florence was a skin owned as a pet to Karns, she was still a skin raised to fight in the skin-fights at the Human Compound. Her inclusion in the skin berserkers is a testament of that.

• Diminished Intellect: Florence like most skins appears to possess limited intelligence, more at the level of an animal in comparison to the dominant apes who own her. While Florence lacked the ability to speak, she does possess a heightened sense of self-preservation allowing her to know when to call it quits.
• Item Dependency: Her enhanced berserker mode relies on her injections of Spazm, which has a limited time frame that can only last a few minutes.

• Spike Collar: The only ornament that Florence was allowed to wear. It was attached to a chain collar that her owner Karns kept to keep her close. After her flight from the Humans she retained this item.
• Spiked Wrist Cuffs: A pair of arm rings with deadly spikes on her wrists. After her flight from the Humans she retained this item.
• Spazm: A new hallucinogenic form of speed that acts as a berserker drug. The drugs was not ready for ape trials but on skin trials it has been shown that it causes a subject to temporarily become insane, hyper violent, and wickedly fast. Once forcibly administered with spazm, Florence goes from a mellow woman to a violent killing machine.
  • Enhanced Agility: Under the effects of Spazm Florence is granted greater agility.
  • Enhanced Speed: Under the effects of Spazm Florence is granted greater speed.
  • Enhanced Strength: Under the effects of Spazm Florence is granted greater strength. Enough to overpower an intelligent gorilla.

• Florence if clad like the Humans would have appeared as a typical punk girl in a biker gang.
• Karns named Florence after his mother.
• She has a tatto of The Humans logo on her left shoulder, and also "❤ Karn's Property" on her left thigh.
• Although Florence was Karns bedmate, she appears to be very indifferent to him.
  • Their relationship was purely physical as she lacked any emotional attachment given his habit of turning his former female skins into boots and was willing to use her as cannon fodder.
  • Her lack of loyalty to her ape master is highlighted by the fact that she willingly left Karns and The Humans once they were distracted.
• Florence, besides Rex was the only skin who was allowed indoors by the apes.
• Given how she held Rex's hand, she appears to have some attachment to her fellow human slave. And was later confirmed in Apeshit when they were making love, Florence normally depicted as emotionally muted had a face of pure enjoyment unlike when with Karns.
• In Human Vol 2 9, her collar was absent during the attack on Flex Trucking. But at the end of the issue in "Apeshit", she was seen wearing it along with a pair of spiked wrist cuffs. Also she was referred as Georgene by mistake.
• Out of all the characters in The Humans, Florence and Rex’s fates are the happiest, given they are free whilst their former ape masters are either, dead, imprisoned or on the run.
