Appearance tags constitute a method by which editors can make clarifications about the nature of a subject's addition in an article's "Appearances" section.

Appearances are divided in two categories: major and minor appearances. When a subject makes a major appearance, they either appear physically in the story, or their non-physical appearance is relevant to the plot (like a video call, for instace). Minor appearances consists of when the subject appears in the story but isn't actually present (they might appear in an illusion, a photograph, in a recording, in a statue modelled after their likeness, comatose or as a corpse, for example). Appearances in flashbacks that only recapitulate past events without offering new information are also considered minor.

The following is the format to add an appearance tag as part of an appearance listing:

* Savage Dragon

An example:

*

The example above will appear displayed like this:

If a subject appears but there is no need to point out anything about the nature of their appearance, simply use the A template:

* Savage Dragon

In this case, it will appear like this:

If you wish to place more than one tag, place the first one as shown in the first example, and write the rest to the right of the appearance listing:

* Flashback Origin

It will appear like this:
